Our School Council is designed to let all children have a voice.
Each class elects a representative who attends Council meetings every half term – or more often should an important issue arise.
Children can raise any issue through the Council bring the views of their classmates to the meetings. They also work in small breakaway groups; for example The Green Team, addressing green issues around our school.
The Council is responsible for a small budget and can decide, in consultation with staff, what this money should be spent on. Last year, the children decided to use the budget to buy equipment for the playground. As well as attending to school business, the Council members are also invited to take part in Pupil Parliament meetings which are held at the Town Hall, and have been on a visit to the Houses of Parliament at Westminster.
